Matix Shot, by Sismatix · Effective 29 October 2026

Matix Shot is a Chrome extension and website (shot.matix.one) for taking screenshots and screen recordings and sharing them by link. This page explains what data it handles and why.

What stays on your device

• Screenshots and recordings are created and edited in your browser. Nothing leaves your device unless you click Upload & copy link.
• Until you upload or discard them, captures are kept in the extension's local browser storage and deleted automatically after 24 hours.
• The extension stores your settings (server address, microphone preference, the position of the recording controls) and a sign-in token in Chrome's extension storage.

What we collect when you use the service

• Account details: your name, email address and password. Passwords are stored only as a salted one-way hash (scrypt) and are never readable by anyone.
• Content you upload: the screenshots and recordings you choose to upload, with their title, size and upload time.
• View counts: how many times each share page has been opened. We do not record who viewed it.
• Standard server logs (IP address, time, requested page) kept for security and troubleshooting.

The extension does not read, collect or transmit the content of the pages you visit, your browsing history, or anything else, except the screenshot or recording you explicitly capture and upload.

How it is used and shared

• Uploaded files are stored in Amazon Web Services (S3, UAE region) and delivered through Amazon CloudFront. Account data is stored on our own server.
• Anyone who has a share link can view that item. Links are long random codes and are not listed or indexed anywhere, but treat them like any link you send.
• We do not sell your data, use it for advertising, or share it with third parties other than the hosting providers named above. There are no analytics or tracking scripts.

Your control

• Delete any upload from My recordings. The file is removed from storage at once and its share link stops working; copies cached by the delivery network expire within 24 hours.
• To delete your account and all your uploads, email us from your account's address.
